SilverDocs is an American international film festival created by the American Film Institute and Discovery Channel. It is held every year in Silver Spring, Maryland near Washington, D.C.. Started in 2003, the festival is held for eight days in June at the AFI Silver and Discovery Communications World Headquarters. SILVERDOCS is dedicated to showcasing the best in documentary films.
This years standout celebrity was Lebron James. James is professional NBA basketball player currently with the Cleveland Cavaliers. James life story as a young basketball player was documented and present to world on June 15,2009. James along with fans of independent film turned out for the event. The pictures below show a reflection of the event on the first night.
