The residents of Georgetown don't mind you coming and spending your money and leaving. They just don't want you to party like a Rock Star. Various media sources are reporting a section in Georgetown is upset with property turning rental and Georgetown students taking over.
CausalHoya.com is reporting that the Burleith Citizens Association is upset with undergraduate population of the Georgetown University population of the school. Someone has started a website title http://drunkengeorgetownstudents.com/ to fight against the students.
This is a quote from meeting person.
"At risk is not only our quality of life, but the value of one of our biggest investments, our homes. Many real estate agents and buyers see Burleith as a student party town. If just ten more houses turn rental, that turns into 6 0more students, and 60 more cars looking for parking," she said. "Georgetown will hire the best attorneys and experts their money can buy. Your money will hire a zoning expert and urban planner. We have done a lot of work ourselves, but we need the experts to fine-tune our case.
"The last thing I want to tell you is the GU plan is bad for Burleith, and now you can make a difference."
The sad part to this aging or high turn over part of the District of Columbia is that part of town is a party area. One is a little confused as to the problem. One has to has to assume the party was always placed on M ST and Wisconsin Ave but now it has moved to the homes.
