Owning a fire arm is a constitutional right. If you live in an area where shootings are rare, you may not have a problem with it or, you may feel you have a need to bare arms for your own protection. Recently, the Supreme Court 5-4 decision to extend gun rights nationwide.
Cities similar to Chicago may have a problem with this ruling. For example, there have been over 80 shootings in a two week period. This ruling along with the shootings have forced the city leaders to team up. Jessie Jackson Sr. and Hon. Bobby Rush held a press conference yesterday at Rainbow/PUSH Coalition headquarters
“No words can describe the amount of disappointment I feel in today’s Supreme Court ruling,” said Rep. Rush. “Chicago has experienced nearly 80 shootings in a two week period and like many other cities, people are under siege by unchecked gun violence. The White House and the Congress has to quickly step in the void that’s been created by today’s ruling and they must provide meaning constitutional gun legislation a move that will expand the proliferation of guns on our streets and the number of killings on our streets.”
