If you have been reading various news sources, Gabrielle Douglas had no father or did not know her father. One news source points out that Gbarielle Douglas father is over seas fighting in Afghanistan
The father had this to say about his daughter.
He loves his little flying firecracker and was only not in attendance during her major win because he was busy serving our country! Gabby’s father was first deployed when she was nine and as a result, Natalie Hawkins (Gabby’s mother) identified as a single mother because the parenting responsibilities were left solely on her.
