The oath was not even 1min old and, Fenty had to do the famous DC mayor minstrel show dance. You see a DC mayor has no real power but, Congress does. Fenty had to take his office oath in private and put his inaugural day on hold. The reason the inaugural was on hold was because of the State Funeral of the former President Gerald Ford. The new King of the land still has to play the colonial minstrel role like so many mayors of the past. DC still has to wait for the King to shine once again but until it happens, Fenty is officially the new Mayor of DC.
