Are pirates of Somalia justified

More and more stories are starting to surface about how European and the Chinese government have over fished the Somali coastal line illegally. Another story starting to come to the table is the dumping of toxic waste on the shores of the Somali.

The Somali government has made many attempts to get the United Nations to help them stop this problem. While seeking help, the people of Somali have been experiencing deaths related to radiation poisoning, birth defects and other illness. These European ships were able to dump the toxic waste on the Somali shores because the Somali government fell apart.

The last line of defense were the fisher men. Because the fishermen were starving, they organized and started raiding ships in the Somali waters because the country has no coast guard. At first the fishermen were the only one doing this raiding but because of the struggles Somalia has faced, more and more groups have formed due to greed.

With the history of Somali in comparison with natural human history, one can see how a country has started to support a group of pirates. Although it is not legally justified for people to be held captive for money, it is not right for other counties to protect shipping lanes for commercial ships but still allow European ships to dump their toxins in the Somali waters.
