A Critic of the Sugar Water Festival.

The sugar water Festival featuring Jill Scott, Queen Latifa, Kelis, Erica Badu and Monique for side entertainment is touring currently. Well, I will get right to the chase of the show.  Kelis was good although she was touring with some very big heavy weights. I don’t know to many of her songs but, it is nice to see a female in a tight dress singing “I am Bosses” and bounce around the stage . Kelis and the sound man did not get along too well at first at the Merriweather post but it was worked out

And then there was Jill Scott, Jill Scott gave a very good performance . Jill allows her fans to appreciate a person that can sing and , she allows you to forgive her for singing songs that you don’t know too well . Jill’s ability to deliver a musical note is still quite good and worth the money. Jill voice and songs will take you away and relax you from start to finish. She and the sound man had to work a few things out in the beginning but it was ok.

As we move on to Queen Latifa, I will just say sing a rap song first then sing one or two jazz songs then more rap. Queen can hold a note but, she cannot take me away like Jill can. I thought. I would have heard more of her rap songs but, I guess it was for the Queen and not me. I know in today’s market. The artist has to market themselves for the next release but not 3 songs or was it 10 . Oh well, The Queen final did some rap and allowed me to forgive her for the other stuff.

Have you ever been to mars if not Erica Badu can take you there.  The group that I was with me said ,” she was high” . I could not tell myself but, I asked my self. Why did I see the music notes as Erica was performing. I assumed. She was high and, she gave me a contact. Erica is very talented and her preform ace was good . I think there needs to be a surgeon general warning label on the tickets though.

Monique was able to calm the crowd doing the intermission and add spice to the concert to keep people in there seats and forgive the person in front of you dancing and block your view. I think . Monique humor allowed the sugar water festival to be sweet and enjoyable.
